HOW TO MEASURE FOR CARPET IN 2 SIMPLE STEPS
Draw a simple diagram of your home. Write down the measurements on your diagram. You need to round up each measurement to the nearest 1/2" foot mark. If your room is 11 feet 3 inches, round it up 11 feet 9 inches. This little bit of extra carpet will help make sure you have enough. There is only one thing worse than not having enough carpet to finish the job, and that is being charged for more material than you acctually need.
Make a list of your measurements and multiply the width by the length of each room.
room size carpet size
Master bedroom: 11' W x 16'L 12'W x 16'6"L
Kid's bedroom: 9' W x 15'L 12'W x 15'6"L
Livingroom: 11' W x 20' L 12'W x 20'6"L
Total carpet size you need is 12' x 52'6" = 630 sq.ft.
